Experience/achievements:
Fred has an established career spanning over 47 years in a wide variety of fields within VAT and Customs.

He was instrumental in masterminding a £1.3 billion repayment for the optical industry in 1995 and is also responsible for writing some of the VAT legislation during his time at HMRC.

Fred helped to establish the Institute of Indirect Tax Practitioners (now part of the Chartered Institute of Tax) and as well as having been the founding President, he is also a member and Honorary Fellow.
Interests:
In his free time Fred is a keen amateur dramatist and budding author.
